Jeremy writes a letter to his sister, Louise, to catch her up on the happenings at CSC:

  • When Isaac collapsed, it was because he was suffering from exhaustion and dehydration. He quickly recovered, and everybody has been making sure he has been taking better care of himself.

  • Natalie has lost the title of senior associate producer. She remains with the show still as an associate producer, but she feels the "title" should not have been taken away from her. Also, Natalie was passed over for another job - executive producer of the half-hour 6:30 p.m. edition of "Sports Night." - in favor of Kim.

  • On Casey's last day with the network, the crew planned on having cake and presents after his final broadcast. Before the final broadcast, everybody with any kind of association with the network applauded and cheered Casey as he made his final trip to the studio.

Natalie has a new boyfriend, Michael. He is a bartender and aspiring playwright.

Marcus returns from his stint in the drug rehabilitation center. He probation makes it difficult to have him work outside of the state, so Isaac gives him assignments to help with production and keep him in the state.

Dana has no idea what to get Casey for his birthday. Natalie suggests getting Casey lingerie because "Any warm-blooded male wants nothing more than to see his girlfriend dressed up in lingerie..." Natalie goes behind Dana's back, gets Casey some lingerie for a present, and gives it to him at his surprise birthday party.

The network got an interview with Syracuse football quarterback Darryll Scoggins. In exchange for an exclusive, Dana agreed to do a special on the Heisman-contending player.

Marcus, Jeremy, and cameraman Phil attend a Syracuse practice to conduct the exclusive interview. During one of the plays, Jeremy is run over by a number of players.

After the Scoggins feature airs, the schools suspends CSC's media passes because the feature mentioned the school using a spread offense - which was a secret formation that hadn't been used during the season - and showing a brand new play. Eventually, the school releases the press passes back to the network.

Chris becomes engaged to his girlfriend, Melanie.

Dana receives 4 tickets to "The Producers." She decides to take Casey, Dan, and Dan's girlfriend, JoAnne. When the four reach the theater, it is discovered they have tickets for the following night. JoAnne arranges to get tickets for that evening's performance of "Comedy of Errors." Dana gives the tickets to Natalie. Natalie takes her boyfriend (Michael), Chris, and Melanie.

Fox Sports has interest in Casey, but it would involve him moving to Los Angeles. Casey decides he can't move to Los Angeles and leave Dana and Charlie behind.

Elliott works with Jeremy and Natalie as he begins his new job as associate producer.

A magazine names their "Hottest Women in Sports Television," and Sally is on the list while Dana is not. Dana is upset because the list is mostly comprised of well-respected journalists, except for Sally.

After messing up the Texas A&M "Gig 'em Aggies" cry by calling it "Giga Aggie," the show messes up Virginia Tech's mascot by calling a Hokie a type of turkey, where actually a Hokie is "attention-getting name" and not a turkey.

The recent on-air gaffes, plus some confusion in the anchor rotation, cause the network to find some candidates to become Dan's permanent co-anchor. The network wants to attract more male viewers, and they feel they can do that by hiring a female anchor. Dana is worried if a woman is chosen, that woman will be hired mostly on her looks and not on her abilities. The network assures Dana they will select the best anchor on their merits.

Sally runs into Casey and the two agree to have lunch. Dan strongly suggests Casey to cancel, but Casey doesn't see any harm in just having lunch. Dan says Sally only wants Casey for his connections, now that he is working for another network and also a best-selling author. When the two meet for lunch, Sally is late. She suggests going to her place for lunch, but, heeding Dan's advice, Casey declines the offer.

Casey is covering the middleweight championship with his new network, and he gets Dan very good tickets to the fight. CSC initially has a problem with Dan attending the fight because another network is covering the fight. Dan is warned not to make any kind of television appearances during the fight, accidentally or not.

In trying to determine Dan's new co-anchor, all the meetings are held behind closed doors. Natalie and Jeremy are busted eavesdropping on Isaac's meeting when their weight against Isaac's locked door pushes it wide open. Natalie later learns through Dana that the co-anchor finalists are women working inside the network.

The network selects Bobbi Bernstein to become Dan's new co-anchor. Even though Dan believes Bobbi is "insane," he is willing to work with his new on-air partner.
